Family Appreciation Game

May 07, 2026 2 mins read

🎯 Purpose To help families slow down and notice kindness, effort, and positive moments that are often missed in busy routines.

How to Play

Once a week (same day each week if possible):

Each family member shares:

  1. One good thing someone else in the family did this week
  2. One thing they appreciated about that person

Example

  • “This week I noticed you helped me when I was tired.”
  • “I appreciate how you stayed calm when things were stressful.”

Optional Add-On

After each appreciation, place a note, stone, or heart card into a Family Appreciation Jar or “Gratitude Pocket Board.”

Simple Rule

Only positive noticing — no correcting, no debating.

Small appreciation. Big connection.

Weekly Reflection Question

At the end of the round, ask:

  • “What kind of family are we becoming when we notice the good in each other?”
